hi im Lydia,

I’m the self-taught jeweller behind Patatina.

My journey started long before I ever made my first piece of jewellery. I had a habit of picking up things that probably looked like rubbish to everyone else—beads from charity shops, shells from holidays, old jewellery that had seen better days, and tiny treasures I couldn’t leave behind. I never really knew why I was collecting them… until I made my first pair of earrings.

Now every piece starts with whatever’s spread across my workbench that day. I don’t sketch or follow a plan. I play around, trust the process, and let the materials decide what they want to become.

I work with recycled silver, thrifted finds, stones, vintage beads, and anything else that catches my eye. Because many of the materials are one-offs, every piece of jewellery is too. No two are ever exactly the same, and I wouldn’t want them to be.
